The shy sun hides in a gray sky, and even the birds decide to sleep in today.
The cat purrs on the windowsill
watching the raindrops race.
The dog snores in her crate
chasing cars through the clouds.
The baby lies in his crib
playing with his piggy toes.
The child sits up on her bed
awake but still dreaming.
The parents snooze under the covers
enjoying the warmth.
The home perches contentedly on its lot
happy to spend quality time with the family.
